About the Initiative
The Compelling Preaching Initiative is a national initiative funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. to support organizations that want to help Christian pastors strengthen their abilities to proclaim the gospel in more engaging and effective ways. The ultimate aim of the initiative is to foster and support preaching that better inspires, encourages and guides people to come to know and love God and to live out their Christian faith more fully.
About the Coordination Program
The Compelling Preaching Coordination Program is hosted by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship (CICW) at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan—an interdisciplinary study and ministry center that promotes the scholarly study of the theology, history, and practice of Christian worship and the renewal of worship in worshiping communities across North America and beyond.
The coordination program is designed to shape a culture of mutual learning among grantees, support grantees in finding expertise needed for the flourishing of their programs, convene grantees for mutually beneficial learning, and disseminate learning emerging out of the initiative as a whole.
